The West Virginia University baseball team will look to continue its streak of Big 12 Conference series wins this weekend as the Mountaineers welcome a proud program trying to get back into the postseason hunt.
TCU comes to Monongalia County Ballpark to open a three-game series at 6:30 p.m. Friday in a position not entirely familiar to the Horned Frogs — the middle of the standings.
The Frogs (24-19, 6-9 Big 12) come into the series off a mid-week win against Abeline Christian but had lost their previous five games — including a three-game sweep against first-place Baylor. WVU (27-15, 10-8 Big 12), on the other hand, has won five consecutive weekend series against conference opponents to vault itself into the national rankings and start legitimate chatter about the possibility of not just qualifying for the NCAA tournament but possibly even serving as a regional host.
