Capital One Bowl gives punch-throwing ejected player the MVP award

What kind of message is the Capital One Bowl sending when a player ejected for throwing punches and fighting in the middle of the game gets the MVP award? Do they not care about sportsmanship at all? I think this is pretty messed up.
