NEW YORK — Less than 48 hours after winning the Heisman Trophy in a landslide vote, Auburn Junior Quarterback Cam Newton has reportedly made the award available for purchase on Ebay.
The 90-plus pound Bronze statue was first listed at 9 o’clock Sunday morning, not 12 hours after Newton received it in New York City. Although the trophy has been identified and verified as belonging to Newton, the 21 year old phenom has denied having any knowledge of its listing.
“I don’t even have it anymore.” Newton said when asked about the whereabouts of the trophy. “We met up with my dad after the ceremony and he took it. He said he wanted to take a couple of pictures with it. I both support and am completely unaware of any decision he makes.”
