  1. I guess if they get banned from NCAA participation then there will be a drop off in revenue...Catch 22

State passes something legal that benefits their student athletes?
NCAA: we won’t stand for it!

College loses institutional control and throws student caution to the wind?
    NCAA: that’s a school matter.

  3. curious, simply because a state passes a law doesn't mean athletes are no longer bound to follow ncaa guidelines.

a number of states now allow for the use of marijuana, but the ncaa still tests for marijuana usage at their championship events.

i am not a fan of the ncaa, but i am not sure this law will have the intended benefits the sponsors purport.
  4. California should be banned from America...

  6. California wants to destroy football.

They would love to make college football a professional league and ruin what makes it great.
  7. Would sure make the playoffs simpler.

  8. One fewer conference from which to draw the two non-SEC schools?
  9. Absolutely nothing

  10. God help us if Gov Newsom ever gets elected President. He’d make 44 feel like a light weight. He’s literally something out of the devils advocate.

  11. California will pass this then all the stud players will go there for the money. PAC12 champ will be the defacto national champion. The remaining 4 power conferences will continue their 4 team playoff to be renamed the National Invitational Tournament (NIT).
  12. There seem to be plenty of people that don’t understand cause and effect of their actions. Thinking things thru and considering all possible outcomes of an action would be prudent.

  13. More likely that the PAC gets Alabama, LSU, tOSU, Notre Dame, etc to tell the NCAA to screw off and form their own league that allows pay and sells to the highest bidder for $100mm+ per team to cover payments and make even more money
  14. Pac 12 is trying to do legally what the SEC has done forever, pay players.
