Haven’t watched 2 minutes of UNC basketball but they are currently in 3rd place in the ACC. Pretty sure a 3rd place ACC team has never even come close to missing the tournament so not sure your Wake or NC State comment is true.

In any event, in my format it wouldn’t be an issue. Only teams that have proven they can beat good teams on a reasonably consistent basis would be in.
Similar resumes of the past: https://barttorvik.com/resume-compare.php?team=North+Carolina&year=2022

It's 50-50 but every major conference team on that list got in

There you have it.

North Carolina signature win. They move up from an 11-seed for sure, assuming they make a deep ACC tourney run.

Say what? KU is currently projected as a 2 seed and Texas a 5 seed. I'd say if Texas beat KU they very well could end up a 4 seed.....and easily if they went on to have a good B12 tournament. And KU losing and getting upset in the 1st round of the B12 tournament could potentially knock them out of the Top 16. Not likely, but possible.

As it is now, the game truly is meaningless, unless you think seeding is a big deal (which it really isn't).
Delusional to think that KU could have dropped to a 5 seed with two losses.

Another game to watch. Santa Clara drilled us back in November. Turns out they aren't too bad. 3 seed in the tough West Coast Conference. We just need them to win tonight and keep that loss as "not as bad as we thought but still not great"

That may be a stretch but not delusional at all to think UT could’ve moved up into a 4 seed. You were just assuming they’d lose, that’s probably why you said what you did. The game would’ve definitely mattered a heck of a lot more with a limited field than it did with this format.

There’s hardly a standard. Just beat a decent team about one out of three times and that’s good enough, apparently.

That random victory against Nicholls State by TCU is actually looking better

Nicholls St just won the regular season title in the Southland Conference. Every quality win counts!
