According to a pre pre-game show, they revealed that Phil Bennett has implemented a 4-2-5 defense. Around the MW radio show also said that New Mexico has also switched to a 4-2-5.

It seems that GP has started something.

This will certainly be interesting.

I hope our "people in Waco" knew this. This could be a really big deal.

The 425 is a very tough defense to run if you don't have experienced run stopping safeties and fast linebackers.

Anyone know if Baylor has these?

Well we should be pretty prepared for it then. You can't beat TCU with a 4-2-5 unless yours is better than theirs.

It takes exceptional speed to utilize that alignment, if I understand it correctly. That's why CGP has so many converted "speed" position players, who are bulked up, in order to play a different position in the Froggie D.

Seems to work fairly well out at Hells Half Acre.

He wrote a paper on it, I think.

And Virginia switched to the Leach-style spread right before we got there, as that was all the hot trend as well. Fact is, it's neither is as easy to run as the geniuses (GP and Leach) make them look.
