Ames Tribune: Cyclones defense stingy again versus Horned Frogs
FORT WORTH, Texas — The execution was far from perfect, but the Iowa State defense did against TCU what it has done the last two years under coordinator Jon Heacock.
It gave the offense a chance to find some traction and stay in the game.
A 17-14 loss at TCU is made tougher by the fact that the defense won the turnover margin 3-1, forced a fumble that led to a score, and kept most of the Horned Frogs (3-2, 1-1) playmakers at bay.
It was the margins, though, that sometimes cost the defense and kept them on the field longer than it wanted.
