TCU thumps Houston to take series opener, 14-1
Jamie PlunkettFORT WORTH – TCU's bats broke out of their slump in a big way on Thursday night as the Frogs ran away from Houston to take the series opener, 14-1.
The Frogs recorded 21 hits, their most since the Fayetteville Regional in 2023, and ten more than they had in the entire series against Oklahoma State last weekend. Every starter notched at least one, while eight had multi-hit nights.
TCU scored runs in every inning from the fourth through the eighth against what had been to this point the best pitching staff in the Big 12. Houston starter Antoine Jean had allowed just four earned runs in 27 innings of work before giving up four tonight.
