TCU CB coach Carlton Buckels talks experienced cornerback group

TCU cornerbacks coach Carlton Buckels is entering his first year as a coach for the Frogs. Buckels spent the previous four seasons (2018-21) at Tulsa, where he worked with TCU Defensive Coordinator Joe Gillespie.
Buckels was a safeties coach for three seasons before taking over as corners coach in 2021. As part of Tulsa’s defensive staff, the Golden Hurricane defense ranked second in the American Athletic Conference for total defense, scoring defense, rushing defense, pass defense and pass defense efficiency. The Hurricane were in the top-20 nationally for fewest passing yards, pass defense efficiency and total defense.
