Payton Tolle pitches complete game shutout as Frogs beat Oklahoma State 1-0
Jamie PlunkettSometimes there are moments in sports that take your breath away. On Friday night, Payton Tolle provided exactly that in a 1-0 win over Oklahoma State.
Tolle, pitching in front of his mom, threw a 132-pitch complete game shutout, striking out a career-high 15. Tolle’s mom, who has battled cancer for several years, got to witness the event first-hand.
His 15 strikeouts was the most for a TCU pitcher since Kyle Winkler completed the feat against Air Force - who he now coaches for - on April 1, 2011.
