Andy Reid eyeing Lucas Niang as potential starter at LT for Chiefs

A healthy number of questions exist at offensive line for the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason after the team released both Mitchell Schwartz and Eric Fisher earlier in the year. And while head coach Andy Reid has not officially shut the door on either of those making a return, it appears that a particular name comes to mind for Reid should the Chiefs indeed be required to showcase a new starting left tackle in 2021.

According to a report from The Kansas City Star, Reid told reporters this week that second-year lineman Lucas Niang could be the one who takes over at starting left tackle if Kanas City can't find a way to bring Fisher back this offseason. The former TCU standout, whom the Chiefs selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has yet to play a snap in the NFL after deciding to opt out of his rookie season, though that didn't stop Reid from praising the potential that Niang has showcased when Reid last saw him in person.
