My daughter's school just announced a week 0 game against their in-town rival for next Friday. Just a scrimmage, but hard to believe it is almost here.

Here's a conference preview:

I am excited for son's junior season.

My son's team did a scrimmage last week and they finally let him go both ways and he played some NT and DE. He did great.

He also is one of the top OL in our state in his class and started on varsity since freshman year.

Last year his team reached the state semifinals.

A great start to the season for my son and his team. Not only did they get a blow out win, he had multiple tackles for a loss and made the QB run for his life.
He dominated on the o-line and the running backs enjoyed the giant holes he created.
One of the players on the other team was a Polynesian senior he has trained against for several years. My son dominated him, which is a compete reversal from a couple years ago.
Can I just say that I love watching my son play football--yes.

Second Baptist (Houston) edges out Wheaton Academy (Illinois) 19-17. Wheaton's o-line seemed to struggle with protection in the passing game, but found something late in their final drive which came up just short. Second Baptist, got a safety with 6 minutes to play in the 4th. Wheaton forced a stop on deference, marched down the field and took a shot at the endzone under a minute, but the receiver could not come up with the ball. Wheaton never made into field goal position to secure the victory.

My son's team is 2-0. The game was over in the 1st quarter (up by 3 TDs) so he barely played defense, to give more reps to other players. He played left guard and left tackle and a few plays at NT. He kept creating huge holes for the RBs and pancaking the DL.

The schedule gets harder now with 4 of the next 5 against national top 150 teams. Then a couple easier games. Then the season finale against a national top 15 team.

However, having watched the next 3 teams live or on game film this season, my son's team looks better than all of them. His team could be undefeated when they play the season finale. It might even be likely.
