I caught about 30 minutes of this one. He looked good. Certainly not over his head against a solid Newcastle side.
I think we need to get all the former players out of the organization after this Berhalter/Reyna kerfuffle. With that many people closely tied to both sides of an altercation nobody can win.Brian McBride is apparently out as General Manager of the USMNT. I can’t tell if it was of his own volition or if he was dismissed. I’m guessing it’s probably the latter.
Berhalter is also apparently still undergoing a “review” according to Earnie Stewart.
Just read this. Basically made the same point I made. And even used the word kerfuffle. This was, indeed, a good read.Great article…
The USMNT Scandal Reflects the Incestuous Nature of American Soccer
A small clique of elites runs U.S. Soccer, passing it on from fathers to sons, from mentors to mentees. In retrospect, it was inevitable that two prominent American soccer families would get caught up in a bubbling stew of conflicted interests and backstabbing.www.theringer.com
Yeah, as much as I love that generation of players, I think they’re a bit too close to things with too many incestuous relations throughout the hierarchy to have better leadership with everything.I think we need to get all the former players out of the organization after this Berhalter/Reyna kerfuffle. I've seen the point made about the NJ/NY influence too. With all the talent in California, Texas, etc. we should have plenty of new blood to reinvigorate the program.Yeah, as much as I love that generation of players, I think they’re a bit too close to things with too many incestuous relations throughout the hierarchy to have better leadership with everything.
The Evil Empire went down today, as it should!Man United v Arsenal coming up. Big game! Let’s see if Arsenal can keep it rolling.
Had himself a match, too.
That it isn’t is a very damning indictment of those in charge of US soccer. If only it were this simple.
I really hope Weston makes it out of there to Spurs before this window closes.Juventus docked 15 points for "cooking the books." Sends them from third (10 points off Napoli) to tenth.
Juventus docked 15 points in Serie A by Italian federation for false accounting
The penalty is tougher than the nine points requested by a prosecutor and will drop the club to mid-table in Serie A once it is appliedwww.theguardian.com
