Umpiring in baseball is such a huge turn-off on the game as compared to football and basketball. You have terrible officiating in all sports, it's hard, but baseball is the only sport where the umpires think they're the third contestant in the game.

I read it as Saarloos being sarcastic that if he (Saarloos) wasn't smart enough to intentionally walk Melendez in that situation following the balk with 1B open, then Saarloos should be ejected for being a moron
