The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns used three Levi Lewis touchdown throws and six takeaways to beat Liberty 42-14 on Saturday night in Lynchburg, Virginia.

The win was the 10th in a row for No. 21 UL (10-1) since a season-opening 38-18 loss at Texas.

While still playing Hugh Freeze and independent Liberty (7-4), Billy Napier and the Ragin' Cajuns also learned Saturday they will face Appalachian State in the Dec. 4 Sun Belt Conference championship.

Man, I wish Billy Napier was on the potential list of TCU coaches.
He would fit right in at TCU, and could be amaaaazingly successful.

He‘s leveraging TCU for better SEC offers. I’m sure TCU must know it by now.
How does having a TCU offer help him leverage SEC offers? This is a serious question.
SEC can match or beat any TCU money offer, and likely is very competitive on the intangibles.
If I were an SEC AD, a TCU offer would not sway my decision one way or the other.

On the other hand, if I am Bill Napier, I might like the home town atmosphere, overachiever small school atmosphere, with a history of giving coaches time and resources to succeed, that only TCU can provide.

Once you’re in the $5-$7m range it’s not necessarily about more money, you made that case with your last sentence. Napier is pocketing offers. Only he knows the value and everyone else has to bid accordingly.
He’s in a position to take his time and shoot for his dream job at an inflated price.

I thought Edwards was doing fairly well at ASU. And he’s done better than I thought he would. And now they are going to axe him?

If so, they hardly gave him a chance.
He is being investigated for NCAA violations is the reason they may have to part ways, not his record. And yes, I know it seems like it would be difficult to get in that much trouble from the NCAA as it exists today but that is the issue.

He had a big blow-up last year over violating NCAA COVID rules. It ended up being an ugly ordeal that‘s strained relations between Herm, the school, & NCAA
In addition the team is way below fan expectations. Everyone thought this was a 10 win year.

This year they are very likely going to win 8. And if they win a bowl game, 9. Way below expectations? That’s one or two games. Another way to look at it is he improved the program enough to where they expected to win 10 games.

It just gets ridiculous sometimes.

I meant 10 win season + NY6 Bowl, but I agree, firing 8+ win coaches seems crazy.
It’s really more about the dozens of COVID recruiting rules violations, that Herm blatantly violated.
So far, I believe 3 assistant coaches have been placed on leave. It’s not good.

az state firing a coach for having ncaa troubles would be akin to suspended coeds for doing amateur porn shoots.

who the heck is going to be left?
