I nearly died from the flu in 2008. It was a horrible experience. I don’t like getting sick and generally try to avoid sick people and crowds. However, life has to be lived. Every single one of us is going to die. We can’t live in fear, because that’s not living.

It’s popular to say #saferathome these days. Well 2 years ago my wife was shot while gardening in our backyard, so that’s BS.

We need to go back to work and to get back to normal. I doubt this virus is going to magically disappear because we stay inside. We’re just going to have to deal with it.
Geez man.

Those are two crazy events. Willing to share any additional backstory?

The main issue that would concern me is people not having the money to spend on sporting events. I think it's pretty reasonable to expect a large drop in attendance and probably a similar spike in TV ratings when games resume.

This is the main thing casinos around here are worried about. Casinos were still open here in 2008 but not nearly as many people had the disposable income to visit them and spend money at them

A lot of us are hoping that this crisis will cause Las Vegas to start drifting away from the corporate vision they have had the past 15 years or so and return back to the Las Vegas of the old days where it was the average middle class prson and not the hypothetical millionaire millenial that is the target customer.

D- When the experts deem it safe to open up sporting events, full-scale, to the public.

Will have to differ somewhat. So called experts would most likely ban FB in normal times. Their views are thru a narrow lens. I am for all about listening to and heeding warnings. But I also have to be logical and pragmatic. There is a difference between theory and proven fact. Too many times they are intertwined together as fact.

Just an example: an accountant performs an important task for a company. Their advice is in the best financial interest of said company. You typically do not want an accountant running a company but rather a financial voice of reason that is part of the decision equation. The person that typically runs a company is from operations. They see the company thru a multifaceted lens.

The real answer is people themselves will let it be known when they are ready to attend games again.

I didn’t really think we had to put that much thought into it.
In other words, we have been shown that the NBA, NHL, MLB will take precautions and cancel games if fans and players are unsafe. Therefore, when the powers-at-be deem it “safe” (liability is low) then I think it’ll be safe. Whether that’s with a vaccine, treatment, or some sort of magic number in cases.

If COVID 19 is still around come football season, I would not hesitate to go but not sure I would be comfortable with older and young (parents, kids...) going.

I wont stop them, I'll just be a little more cautious. Make sure to have a face mask and hand sanitizer.

There are not enough options for me to vote for what I’d do or not do, but I understand the concept behind the poll.

I think I’d be comfortable going to games if the experts felt it was reasonably safe. The vaccine is not my measuring stick.

I’m 71, so I’m right smack dab in the middle of the target demographic of mortality, but I refuse to be afraid of my own shadow.

If the proper medical experts assure us it’s okay to attend a sporting event, I would be overjoyed at being able to watch TCU play.

Go Frogs!

What about the Donald. He is awfully smart ... at least that's what he says. Two months after he was in office, he said he knew more than the generals, later more than the media, later more than judges. Maybe Wall Street will decide for us.
