TCU prediction: Will the Horned Frogs outlast Kansas State?

By Grant McGalliard
TCU at Kansas State
When: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kan.
Records: TCU (3-2 overall, 1-1 Big 12); Kansas State (3-2, 0-2 Big 12)
Last meeting: TCU defeated Kansas State 14-13 on Nov. 3, 2018, in Fort Worth
TV: FSN

What’s on the line?
Both of these schools were embarrassed in their last outings. TCU lost 49-24 to Iowa State and Kansas State fell 31-12 at home to Baylor. But the Horned Frogs and Wildcats each had a bye week to shake off the cobwebs and refocus for the stretch run.

TCU still has dreams of reaching the Big 12 Championship Game, but it’s unlikely the Frogs will get there with more than two losses. They’ve already got one on their record, and with Oklahoma, Texas and Baylor still on the schedule, it’s likely they’ll pick up one more. TCU needs to take care of business against the Wildcats.

For Kansas State, Big 12 play has been a shock to the system. The Wildcats won all three nonconference games to start head coach Chris Klieman’s first season with the team and at one point were ranked No. 24 in AP poll, but they’ve lost both their Big 12 games thus far. Beating TCU would get Kansas State back on track for bowl eligibility.

But Kansas State will try to make TCU play the Wildcat way, which means a slowed-down game that limits the number of possessions for each team.
But that is the way so many here want to see the Frogs play. If we want a sniff at the B12 championship again we need to be able to both run and pass the ball. Not talking about this year...any year. Also more explosive plays.
