Surely there is a ref on this board who can explain how a player can kneel out of bounds, reach onto the field of play, and grab the football that is laying inbounds, and it’s considered a kick out of bounds??!
One would assume the correct call is touch inbounds by a player out of bounds therefore the ball is dead at that spot.
Nah, it is an out of bounds kick. It was weird. Hadn't seen that before. One would assume the correct call is touch inbounds by a player out of bounds therefore the ball is dead at that spot.
A ball touched by an oob player is always ruled oob, dead at that spot. But on kickoffs, that’s a penalty.
True of any free kick.
Yeah, forgot to mention that you also can’t kick a fair catch free kick field goal attempt oob.
Or a free kick after safety punted or kicked

As mentioned earlier, any ball touched by a player that is OB puts the ball OB. VERY smart play by the player.
I was always curious why that wasn’t illegal touching (being the first to touch the ball after leaving the field of play)?
