GoFrogs: W. Tennis Falls Short at Texas

Final Stats

FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 27 TCU women’s tennis team could not overcome No. 22 Texas as the team fell 4-0 on Sunday to the Longhorns at the Whittaker Tennis Courts in Austin, Texas.

The Horned Frogs (9-6, 1-2 Big 12) struggled in doubles action as the Longhorns (8-6, 2-2 Big 12) picked up the wins on courts one and three to take the early lead in the match. Despite dropping the matches on two courts, Seda Arantekin and Sofiko Kadzhaya were leading 5-3 on court two before the match was called.

TCU continued to battle throughout singles action, but Texas used its three ranked players at the top three positions to finish out the match in straight sets and take the 4-0 victory. In the three matches left unfinished, the Frogs were able to split the opening two sets and were all fighting for their matches in the decisive third sets.
