For you doubters - Here's reason KANSAS trying so hard to leave Big12

The discontent in the Big 12 is growing. Some of the bottom teams in revenues are furious and want out.

This is no way to run a league !

When looking at the link (above) keep in mind that Kansas, Mizzou, and Ksu are trying to determine if the Big East can get a "similar deal" that the ACC currently has. The jury is out on that but the general consensus is that they evetually could with Tcu, Kansas, Mizzou, and Kansas St added to the league. So use the ACC figures in the above link to compare with the Big 12 numbers, because that is the Big East goal if the B12 triplets join the Big East.

How long would you put up with a Company who paid their favorites more than others who work the same hours.

And please dont say TEXAS is "better" than teams like Mizzou. Missouri finished the season ranked # 22 in the nation. TEXAS finished # 78 in the nation and made quadruple the money Mizzou did. Completely unfair and insulting to Mizzou.

How long do you think schools like Mizzou are gonna put up with that kind of nonsense ?

Which is exactly why Mizzou is pushing Kansas very hard to be the lead contact to investigate 3 current Big 12 teams possibly joining the Big East.

Now you know.........the rest of the story !!

Now you can very clearly see why KANSAS, MISSOURI, and KANSAS ST want out of the Big 12.

Mizzou finishes waaaaaaay waaaaaay ahead of TEXAS in the national rankings and is a better team than the Longhorns, but because of favoritism and Longhorn ownership of the entire conference, the Longhorns get nearly 6 times more money than Mizzou, Kansas, and Kansas St get.

It is simply outrageous, and Big 12 North teams arent going to tolerate this horrendous arrangement much longer.

Also......keep in mind that the gap between the BIG 12 "HAVES" and "HAVE NOTS" is getting BIGGER as revenues increase in the Big 12. Increasing revenues are not really good news for teams like KANSAS, MIZZOU, and KANSAS ST, because the gap between them and the big boys in the league is getting so big, that soon the gap will be hopeless. Bigger revenues (and bigger gaps in payouts) actually mean that teams like KU, MU, and KSU will never ever be able to compete (long term) with the BIG 12 "HAVES".

KANSAS, MIZZOU and KANSAS ST are now very slowly but surely realizing that they are playing against a stacked deck in the Big 12. In the long term, the current Big 12 revenue system will eventually overwhelm the "HAVE NOTS" and it make it impossible for the lower tier teams to compete with the very rich and powerful "HAVES".

KU, MU and KSU have to get out of the Big 12.

The Big XII may very well fall apart. But only when Texas, A&M, and OU decide to go independent or join other conferences. Until that happens, no one is going anywhere. Sorry.

"It’s worth noting that the three top SEC spenders have won three of the last four national championships. The top spender in the Big Ten? They’ve been in two of the last five national championship games."

I knew it! The best teams money can buy. The proof is in black and white.

YUP !! The best teams money can buy indeed !!

TEXAS can buy and sell Mizzou 10 times over with the cash they are getting. Mizzou is getting further and further behind TEXAS every year (money wise).

Baylor runs a $ 15 million dollar deficit each and every year compared to TEXAS living in luxury. This arrangement is so unbelievable. The Longhorns bent over
all the other members of the conf to an unimaginable final result. Great for TEXAS but it is just amazing that all the other teams in the conf would allow one team to
become so superior to the others (financially). That much more money for TEXAS, will guarantee that (long term) more than half the teams in the league will eventually no longer be capable of competing with the Longhorns. How they can sit still for that is beyond me !! Who in the heck wants to be in a league whereby one member gets all the goodies and the other teams get crap. What is the point of being in a league with that kind of unfair arrangement for one member ?

It doesnt take a genius to see that TEXAS (and OKLAHOMA) are going to be financial juggernauts in the Big 12 with superior facilities, Coaches, Assts, stadiums, etc etc etc, while Kansas, Mizzou and Kansas St get further and further behind every year in the Longhorn Conference.

If any of you think Mizzou, Kansas and Ksu are going to just sit there and get marginalized in the Big 12, to irrelevant 2nd class status, without a peep, you are sadly mistaken.

Money is the new equalizer within conferences and Mizzou, Ksu and Ku are falling woefully and hopelessly behind. If they stay in the Big 12 they have no hope at all of being an equal member with the top revenue teams. The longer the triplets stay in the Big 12, the further behind they are getting.

Just a matter of time before they say ADIOS to the Big 12. If they stay in the Big 12, they realize that they face a very grim long term future and they will get not only passed, but lapped and overwhelmed by the top revenue teams in their own league.

Unfortunately for the Big 12, TEXAS has forced the ruination of the league by their sheer greed. No matter how lucrative a league may be, when half the teams in the league are getting bullied and completely screwed over, that league's days are numbered.

For the calendar year 7/1/2008 -- 6/30/2009, the Big 12 distributed $121,192,164 to its 12 members. Oklahoma received the most, $12,209,800, and Kansas State received the least, $8,374,959. If they had split the revenue equally, every school would have received $10,099,347. The unequal split "cost" Kansas State $1,724,388. The way the money is split has very little to do with the difference in revenues. Missouri received $10,449,437 and Kansas received $11,494,441, so they would have actually made less with an equal split.
Guidestar.org has copies of the form 990s that nonprofits have to file with the IRS. You can confirm these numbers by looking at the Big 12's.
I actually think that those teams joining the Big East is a legitimate possibility, but not for the reasons you claim.
