I'd still rather have ASU, Arizona and Utah............

Was I supposed to type something here?
Always have the same thought when folks bring local vacation attractions like scenery, bars, restaurants, amusement parks, activities, etc into a discussion about why a particular expansion candidate would make a "nice add to the conference." Who cares about the local entertainment/vacation attractions? Is that what an athletic conference is really about?

I mean it's a nice travelog, but has absolutely zero relevance to any factor that makes a program a desirable or undesirable addition. Has ESPN/Fox sold their Big 12 media rights to The Travel Channel?

As fans who travel it is important! You want to bring the family have a nice vacation and watch the Frogs kill some team! We can enjoy the amenities and how easy it is to travel somewhere.

In SEC getting to Columbia is a pain in the butt. Charolette is the only major airport two hours away. If we play there we will make the sacrifice, but Orlando DisneyWokeWorld. Tons of hotels restaurants bars is way more fun!!!

As a veteran of many away games, I travel to see the Frogs play -- not to squeeze in a vacation that just happens to include a football game. The game, not the local attractions, is my primary motivation.

Local entertainment options are nice to have, but they're the meringue -- they ain't the pie. Conference expansion decisions are about the pie. The meringue will take care of itself. It's not even relevant.

How dare you mix pleasure with football travel. You need to be a completely selfless TCU fan. Considering your family is apparently not allowed.

Meringue is typically at least 50% of the pie, if not more. So, you may be accidentally agreeing with everyone that travel destination has value.

Yeah, we have heard this story before with every expansion move. I wonder how that turned out for OU/Okie St.? Or the fact that the Texas legislature does not handcuff the state schools together with any moves. Kansas and Kansas St. aren't linked together either, as Kansas was being shopped by the Big 10 briefly. I'll believe a state legislature blocking a conference move when it happens.

Are you trying to say I am being dense?

*Science joke
Marang just ruins a perfectly good chocolate or lemon pie. Give me whipped cream.

Why is UA wanted, and ASU not?
Football wise, they seem pretty fungible as far as I can tell. Neither too successful, but both appeal to a lot of fans, alums and t-shirts, in the Phoenix area. No?

We aren’t taking more than 3 more schools. 2 of those spots are being held for UO and UW at the moment. That leaves only 1 spot left unless things change. That 1 spot is Utah or UA unless both decline.

personally, the brands are close in football, but in basketball az is an established brand

that an with tech the big 12 already has filled their quota of college students with communicable diseases and active amateur porn careers

When I get meringue piled that high, I'm usually suspicious that it's to conceal how much I'm getting shorted on actual pie -- so I scrap most of the meringue off.

If one guy eats a wedge of pie and another eats a plateful of meringue, guess which one is likely have his hunger satisfied?
