He was directly named as the coach that the volleyball player who was gang raped by multiple players told of the assault - and the coach that violated school policy and Title IX requirements by not reporting it - but instead “investigating it” on his own by talking to two of the players and determining by himself it was all consensual. He even lied to Briles supposedly and told him they were just partying and the girls mother didn’t like her partying with football players, so she made up the rape allegations. Basically he started the cover up.

You do not have the story correct. The volleyball player told her mother 4 months after the occurrence that she was raped. The mother (not the student) then went to Kazadi to tell him what happened. Kazadi met with the players she mentioned and then he went to Briles and told him what the mother said and what the players said. Kazadi never lied to anyone about the event and did not withhold information. The information was transmitted up the chain to Mccaw.

The mother and the student also went to the volleyball coach, Jim Barnes, and told him what happened. Barnes told them to file a police report. Barnes informed Briles what happened.

McCaw made the decision that there was nothing they could do unless the player filed a police report.

Jimbo is benefitting from 3 things IMO….
1) The program has never been good enough that they have instant huge expectations for a new coach.
2) He’s recruiting very well.
3) UT currently sucks so he’s not constantly faced with the pressure of needing to be as good as they are.

4) Right now he's the only Saban downliner with a win over him and A$M isn't giving up that bragging right. Of course it's likely that will only last another week.
