All you whiners finally got what you wanted. Patterson now gone, the man who put TCU back on the college football map after decades of nothingness. He was responsible for the millions spent on facilities and being relevant for twenty years. Wokeness has killed this program not him. Players who are entitled and cry when their feelings get hurt made this year worse than it should have been. Patterson is the man and will always be the man.

While I agree that Patterson is owed a great debt of gratitude by all TCU fans for what he has done, I have to disagree that it was the shift in attitude and entitlement that completely killed the program. TCU isn't the only school dealing with these cultural shifts, but Patterson was a rock in a moving landscape unable or unwilling to change tactics.

Which "whiners" would those be? The usual jackwagons with 5 posts trolling the board, or the people who noted breakdowns in fundamentals, standards, and overall poise and composure? There were problems, and they weren't getting addressed. As to "wokeness" and mentally fragile prima donnas, hell, every team has to deal with that.

Nobody wanted things to end as they have. But end it did. There was no other way for the story to close. Could things have been handled better? Probably. We don't know, and probably never will know all the details. But it is a sad and terrible day for TCU.

He was paid $6 million per year to win football games. Past performance is irrelevant to future employment. You don’t hang on to a coach for what he did 7 years ago.

He is 61. I hope he has a fantastic retirement. He did great things at TCU, and was paid extremely well for it. He will always be appreciated at TCU

Do we know if he's retiring?

It all started with him and the money he was getting paid paled in comparison to the money Tcu made because of him.

Sure seems like all these people that continually state Patterson single-handedly brought TCU back to football relevance easily forget some of the other major and capable figures involved such as Morrison, Hyman, CDC, and maybe most of all, Bumpas…
I'll give you Bumpas but the others weren't coaches. He walked on water before and now he's chopped liver, SMH.

So we’re supposed to keep paying him $6 million per year for 3 to 6 win seasons? For how long? That’s ridiculous. TCU is in danger of becoming a doormat again.

I would’ve preferred to see him retire after a good season, but the team quit on him.

I’m just thankful he isn’t going out with a humiliating loss to Baylor or Kansas.

Don't disagree but he didn't change with the times and yes he did the seemingly impossible building, with the help of a lot of generous frogs, this program out of virtually nothing and then proceeded to not change with the times and be stubborn and stupid and ride it damn near back into the abyss, so thank you for that Coach P. He made a pretty penny so Steel ain't crying over his moving on; he's crying all the way to the bank
