I get where you are coming from, and from a very high level perspective I agree, but you, @froginmn, and others are completely overlooking a very obvious reality.Agree. A seat filled by an opposing team’s fan is better than an empty seat IMO.
Eliminating chronic stubhub resellers doesn't mean more empty seats or that less opposing fans attend games.
It simply helps ensure that our best seats are primarily occupied by TCU fans, and that most opposing fans are sitting in worse seats than our fans are.
In our current state, a huge chunk of opposing fans end up sitting in better seats than our season ticket holders even have access to due to stubhub resellers than have been hoarding up extra seats and growing their priority point total for years.
With my suggestions, TCU fans that typically use their tickets but can't attend a game would still have the right to sell their tickets on stubhub for a particular game or two and opposing fans would still have access to buying these seats. BUT for the most part, the amount of inventory available on stubhub for premium seats would greatly decrease, putting our best seats in the hands of real TCU fans, and forcing many opposing fans to buy less premium tickets through the TCU ticket office.
