I've always liked Phil Steele. He does more research and throws more raw data at you than any other publication. I think it's his background as a Vegas handicapper. He's not always right but at least his forecasts are based on real research rather than just bias for the most part.

Returning starters is important, but it has to be kept in perspective. Boise's losses are key IMO. Kellen Moore is very good, but he had two senior NFL receivers that made him look a lot better. TCU's losses are key as well, but at almost every position you have returning lettermen with serious playing time, with the exception of quarterback. And with the potential of the running game, that should take a lot of pressure off a young QB. As for teams like Wyoming, I don't get real excited about 19 returning starters that just came off a 3-9 season.
