Rewatched the game. Stating the obvious…

Offense looked good
Defense was bad
Poor tackling. Arm tackling. Tackles being broke
Poor QB pressure
Secondary was lost and seemed to get burned giving 10+ yard cushion

Gary Patterson and Bumpass must’ve hated seeing this. I think we got spoiled with solid tackling for 20 years.

I’m pretty sure GP enjoyed watching it. I doubt Bumpas cared either way.

you mean solid 15 because the last 5 wasn't so solid

My son wouldn't stop screaming about the cushion. I told him to calm down because the coaches get paid a lot of money and know better than him. But then we were both shocked to see no adjustment

The arm tackling and trying to just grab the ball carriers was what was killing me. It's almost like they were afraid to actually but their bodies on the line and hit someone. Almost looked like a scrimmage instead of a season opening on a huge stage.
