When Josh Jurgens says he wants people to be like Desmond Bane, he’s not so much talking about the basketball player Desmond Bane.

“He is where he is now because of who he is off the court more than on,” Jurgens — Bane’s high school basketball coach — said Friday.

Bane was the first basketball player from Seton Catholic High School to play in college, and he did so at the NCAA Division I level.

Not many basketball stars in Indiana are stiffs . Did not like living in Indiana (3.5 long years), but certainly respect their love of basketball.

Bane is a stud. Already has all the physical tools, and will only get stronger. Really it's just about getting more experience and confidence, which will come as he matures with the help of good coaching. He really came on at the end of the season. He'll be a big factor next year.
