PAC 12 soft this year? No playoff?

The only way it hurts is if the #2 team beats the #1 team and the #2 team has two losses.

In the years when TCU has been in the Big 12, it's been more likely that not that the #2 team will have 2 losses.....

2016: OU 9-0, OSU 7-2
2015: OU 8-1, OSU 7-2
2014: TCU 8-1, Baylor 8-1
2013: Baylor 8-1, OU 7-2
2012: KSU 8-1, OU 8-1

I'm not going to let this one die. USC isn't a top 10 team. Washington is the only team in that conf worth considering. Keep the PAC 12 out of the playoffs unless Washington really pours it in. Whoever they send will get rolled again this year.

The only way it hurts is if the #2 team beats the #1 team and the #2 team has two losses. That again goes for every conference though. It will happen someday, and someday soon, it just hasn't yet (which is surprising). When it does, the perceived value of the CCG in helping a team make the playoffs will go way, way down.
The reason it hasn't happened, yet, is because the SEC, ACC and B1G have completely lopsided divisions. The Pac12 at least, usually, has good teams at the top of both divisions. Our CCG will (theoretically) pair the best two teams. Which will likely end up biting us in the arse a lot sooner than the other conferences.

With that said.....

USC and Washington both won on the road against 3-0 teams by bigger margins than Oklahoma won on the road against an 0-3 team.

USC may lose at Wazzu this week, though.
