OT - best steakhouse in FW?

Absolute best steak I ever had was at Red Ash in Austin. If you have the opportunity take it and get a bone in filet. Town Hearth in Dallas cooks over an open wood fired grill like Red Ash but doesn’t do it nearly as well.

And since I’ve gone on a steakhouse rant, I figured I’d share my favorite steakhouse experience I’ve ever had:

Hall’s Chophouse in Charleston, SC. All around incredible experience, but the steak was simply on another level.

Will be back Charleston next month for a wedding and can’t wait to go back.
Co-sign on Hall's in Charleston. Maybe the best meal I have ever eaten. Bone-in ribeye to die for.

Best steak I’ve ever had was 10 years ago at Bally’s Steakhouse, of all places. I understand it closed 5 or 6 years ago and Bally’s Casino allowed an outside restaurant to occupy that space.

The best Vegas steak, IMHO, is Delmonico inside The Venetian. Close second to The SW Steakhouse at The Wynn.

In the US, I’d go with NYC, Vegas and San Fran/Napa/Yountville. DC is also good if you include northern virginia. My family in Oregon swear by Portland (and to a lesser extent, Seattle), both of which I’ll be checking out later this year. My personal favorites are Santa Fe and New Orleans, though both are slipping, and kinda fast.

Now cue TCUownstheBig12 to discuss Chicago.
Suggestions for Napa and Yountville? We’re going in a couple of weeks.

I have a good French Laundry story to tell you sometime. Too long to type out. Because lazy.

If you can afford and somehow manage to get a reservation, then the French Laundry. The food is unbelievably good (best meal I have ever had), and the service is even better. I have done both the meal with wine pairing and meal without wine pairing. The wine pairing is a little much, IMO.

Mustard's is a great meal too. Don't even look at the menu; just order to pork chop. It is unbelievably good.

Other people will probably have better winery recommendations, but I think the Viader winery is great. They have good wine and an absolutely stunning view.

Of course we are all just fooling ourselves and Froginmn. If he truly wants a great meal, he needs to drive south to Waco. That it where all the best restaurants are located.
