FORT WORTH, Texas — Oklahoma snapped a three-game losing streak and picked up a quality non-conference win with a 4-2 victory TCU Tuesday night at Lupton Stadium.

The Sooners (23-6) were coming off a three-game sweep at the hands of Texas and needed something positive to happen to keep their season from heading into a tailspin.

They got it with a dominant pitching performance from reliever Jeremy Erben (6-0). The senior right-hander entered in the first inning after starter Drew Verhagen failed to get an out.

Erben worked this way out of a bases-loaded jam he inherited without giving up a run to the Horned Frogs (20-7). He tossed a career-high 120 pitches and scattered two runs (one earned) off six hits and four walks.

Ryan Duke got the final four outs to record his eighth save of the season.

The Sooners struck early with a double from Cameron Seitzer in the top of the first inning to plate Tyler Ogle and Garrett Buechele followed with a RBI single to right.

Cody Reine provided the game-winning hit with an RBI single in the sixth inning and Danny Black’s run-scoring triple in the ninth padded the lead.

“That was really a good college baseball game,” OU coach Sunny Golloway said. “There was some quality defensive plays tonight along with some great at-bats and quality pitches. Our guys really played well and we’re proud of the way they responded after last weekend.”

TCU’s Paul Gerrish (1-2) suffered his third career loss to the Sooners after allowing nine of 11 hits on the night.

OU returns to L. Dale Mitchell Park to host Missouri in a three-game set at L. Dale Mitchell Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
