Merry Christmas LEGALLY

Absolutely. The question is whether those individuals are a real substantive threat to the ability of Christians to celebrate Christmas freely. And as marginalized as they are in our society, I'd argue its no. On the whole, it's good to be a Christian in America.

Somewhere in Saudi Arabia, there's a Muslim decrying the state of things not being Muslim enough.

Probably while walking away from the stoning to death of a witch.

It only takes one person to file a lawsuit. The problem is not the people offended by Christmas as much as it is the court system that refuses to throw out silly lawsuits.

Even just the threat of a lawsuit is enough to stop the celebration of Christmas.

Even just the threat of a lawsuit is enough to stop the religious celebration under governmental authority/control/funding of Christmas.

Fixed to show precisely what the "threat of a lawsuit" most certainly has a good chance of stopping.

It's not a threat, just a downer. It seems like every year, there is less and less "Christ" in Christmas -- and that's not all (or even mostly) the evil atheists' fault -- but when you're already bummed that Christmas stuff has been in the store since July, and non stop about presents... hearing these stories of political correctness gone too far (my opinion) is one more kick in the groin. And it's not just, "hey can you take down the manger scene in front of the court house," it's "let me put up a rival display that mocks your belief."

The commercialism of Christmas is another unfortunate example of the inability to separate the religious and cultural aspects of the holiday. But if that's a front of the "war" on Christmas, I'd argue that's friendly fire more than the Godless Hordes ...

If you want to place blame for any war on Christmas, place the blame squarely on who is most responsible -- big retail. They have probably done far more than any other entity to secularize Christmas and mae it less and less a religious holiday.

You know which country loves Christmas? Japan. Meri Karisumasu. That's a fun factoid to drop on the ladies at the Rose Bowl Parade like a Regis Philbin impersonator.

Where do you find religious fundamentalism and extremism in my story?
Just because I know you are easily offended, I was talking about the person that had an issue with "what are you doing for Christmas" and not you.

Jeez, this world is screwed up when even you cannot see the issue.

I don't think he was an extremist or a fundamentalist at all. I was shocked when he was offended. I just let it go and didn't bring it up because it seemed to be a sensitive issue for him.

I just think it's silly to get offended by Holidays.

Just because you're pissed at what your secret Santa got you in 3rd grade doesn't mean you have to take it out on everyone else

Companies also fear the lawsuit.

Anyways, as I mentioned before, Christmas is a Federal Holiday so any lawsuit against the celebration of a Federal Holiday should IMHO be immediately thrown out.

Actually, this year Boxing Day is a Federal holiday.

Ah yes, the confusingly named Boxing Day.

Not This.
