KXAN (Austin) 0-3 in 1-score games this year, TCU’s losing record is not indicative of their talent level

Unusual to see a pro-TCU story by a local Austin station.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — It’s easy to write off TCU because of the Horned Frogs’ losing record and injury trouble on offense, but like College GameDay’s Lee Corso always says — not so fast, my friend.

TCU hosts No. 7 Texas at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, and they’re doing so with a 4-5 overall record and 2-4 mark in the Big 12 Conference. They were blown out by Kansas State 41-3 the week before the Wildcats took Texas to overtime, but in every other loss, the Horned Frogs were in the game the entire way. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian knows that and isn’t expecting an easy game by any stretch of the imagination.

And last year we were 6-1!

Fire everyone!! Wait… except for everyone who was here last year.

Dammit. This doesn’t go along with our “we need GP back” narrative.

Maybe we should just calm the scheiss down and understand that this is football. We don’t have our Heisman finalist, Max, first round pick, QJ, Darius Davis (who is now returning kicks for TDs in the NFL), Fiesta Bowl MVP Dee Winters, NFL RB Kendre Miller, NFL RB Emari Demercado.

We lost a lot last year, but all of a sudden we are Bama fans that expect to be in the playoff every year.

This team fought their asses off tonight and almost took down the best team in the conference.

Enjoy the ups and the downs and beat the scheiss out of Baylor.

Nobody expected to be in the CFP hunt this year. Just look at the season prediction thread. Majority were 8-4/9-3. But we did expect to make a bowl. That doesn’t make us Bama fans.

I didn’t expect another playoff run but I did expect to be competitive and in the mix of things in the conference, instead we are closer to the bottom. No one is going to remember we lost a game “close” a loss is a loss. I will say at least the team hasn’t shown any signs of giving up at all which is good to see and reason to optimistic going forward. Hopefully Sonny figures it out in the off season and we come backed loaded and ready to go in the new Big 12.
