GoFrogs: Three Frogs Earn All-Conference Honors

All-Big 12 Teams

FORT WORTHEmanuel Miller was named Second Team All-Big 12 Conference, while Jameer Nelson Jr. and Micah Peavy each earned honorable mention honors.

The awards were voted on by the league's coaches and no coaches were permitted to vote for their own players.

It was the third-straight season that Miller earned all-conference recognition as he was honorable mention the previous two years. The senior from Scarborough, Ontario ranks fifth in the Big 12 with 16.0 points per game and 13th with 5.8 rebounds per game. He has been one of the most accurate shooters in the conference, ranking third in shooting at 49.0 percent and is a 39.4 percent shooter from 3-point range.

Miller has also been one of the most consistent players in the league. He's scored in double-figures 28 times this season and is the only player to score at least 10 points in all 18 Big 12 games this season.

He has scored 20 or more points eight times, including a career-best 29 points at Georgetown. His game-winning 3-pointer against the Hoyas was one of two this season. Miller also hit the go-ahead layup to beat No. 2 Houston.

Miller was one of five chosen for preseason all-conference honors and was recognized three times throughout the season as the Big 12 Player of the Week.

Joining Miller on the second team were RayJ Dennis (Baylor), L.J. Cryer (Houston), Keshon Gilbert (Iowa State) and Max Abmas (Texas).

Nelson is averaging 11.3 points and 3.3 assists per game. His 2.01 steals per game ranks fourth in the Big 12. The senior guard from Haverford, Pa. has scored in double-figures 20 times, including a season-high 30 points in TCU's triple overtime win at Baylor.

Nelson has come up clutch multiple times throughout the year. He hit the go-ahead layup at No. 15 Baylor and the game-winning 3-pointer at Kansas State

Nelson has been even more productive lately, averaging 15.3 points and 4.6 assists over the past three games and has shot 16-of-23 from the field, including 7-of-8 from 3-point range.

Peavy is averaging 11.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Among his 19 games scoring in double figures, the senior from Cibolo, Texas, scored a career-high 26 points in the win at Kansas State.

Earlier in the year, Peavy recorded the third triple-double in program history with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in the win against Arizona State. Both the rebounds and assists were career highs. Peavy was later rewarded with his first Big 12 Player of Week honor.
