Alex Boxwell put the Golden Gophers in front 1-0 with an RBI groundout. The lead for Minnesota grew to two as it once again took advantage of a lead-off batter reaching base in the second inning. A base hit from Ben Mezzenga made it a 2-0 game. <a href="http://www.gofrogs.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/josh_watson_992776.html" target="_blank">Josh Watson</a> held the Gophers to one run as he threw out a runner at home trying to score from second on the Mezzenga hit.</p><p></p><p>TCU cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning. Rizer doubled and moved to third on a balk. An error that would have ended the frame allowed Rizer to score to make it a 2-1 game. </p><p></p><p>The Frogs tied the game in the third. Wanhanen opened the inning with a base knock and scored on a <a href="http://www.gofrogs.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/luken_baker_992780.html" target="_blank">Luken Baker</a> base hit to make it a 2-2 contest.</p><p></p><p>Minnesota wasted little time regaining the lead as Toby Hanson hit a lead-off home run in the fourth to make it a 3-2 game.</p><p></p><p>Once again, TCU battled back to tie the game in the seventh. <a href="http://www.gofrogs.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/adam_oviedo_1065419.html" target="_blank">Adam Oviedo</a> led off the inning with his second hit of the night and was standing on third with one out. <a href="http://www.gofrogs.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/coby_boulware_1065395.html" target="_blank">Coby Boulware</a> grounded out to tie the game at three.</p><p></p><p>Three batters into the eighth inning, Minnesota had the lead once again as two doubles around an infield single made it a 4-3 ballgame. A bases-loaded sacrifice fly pushed the lead to two, 5-3. The Golden Gophers added another run in the ninth to account for the final score.</p><p></p><p><a href="http://www.gofrogs.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/jared_janczak_937134.html" target="_blank">Jared Janczak</a> started and got the no-decision after allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits.
