TCU director of intercollegiate athletics Chris Del Conte discusses the hot topics around the Horned Frogs

PRIORITY POINTS SYSTEM UPDATE
Good news! I am pleased to announce that, effectively immediately, your valuable contributions to the Frog Club and TCU Athletics will earn you more Horned Frog Priority Points credit than ever before! In addition to credit for Frog Club membership and cash giving, we are now also awarding points for bowl ticket purchases dating back to the system's inception in 2006. Be on the lookout for the official announcement and details from the Frog Club later this week. As always, thank you for your incredible and continued support!

CHECK YOUR MAILBOX!
Season tickets and donor parking were mailed late last week. As we have done the last few years, parking (if purchased) is located in the back of your season ticket book. If you requested to have your tickets left at will call, they will be available for pick up beginning today (Aug. 20). Please drop by the main ticket office located near Gate 6 at the Northeast corner of Amon G. Carter Stadium between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you have not received your season tickets by Sept. 1, please email the ticket office at tickets@tcu.edu.

ROAD GAME TICKETS
Tickets to our road games were also shipped late last week. They will be in a separate mailing from your season tickets and parking. If you have not done so already, there is still time to order road game tickets. Please call the ticket office at (817) 257-FROG (3764) or CLICK HERE

FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS
A special thank you to the Horned Frogs Nation as you helped us set another season-ticket record this fall! We are sold out of football season tickets with our new record-breaking total of 34,094 for the 2015 season. What a great time to be a Horned Frog!

FOOTBALL SINGLE-GAME TICKETS
As a quick reminder, we'll have a limited number of single-game tickets available to purchase beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5. These tickets will be for all games except the sold-out Texas and Baylor contests. For those two games, we will begin selling Standing Room Only (SRO) tickets on the Monday of each game week. Please CLICK HERE to order online.

BASKETBALL SEASON TICKET INFO
If you had season tickets last year, be on the look out for men's and women's renewal information at the beginning of September. Please contact the ticket office at (817) 257-FROG (3764) if you did not have season tickets but would like to be on the wait list as we open a new era in the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena.

MEET THE FROGS

We look forward to seeing you Saturday at our football program's Meet The Frogs. This year's event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility. It's a great opportunity for pictures and autographs with our football student-athletes and Coach Patterson. As a heads-up, the only item that will be signed is the team poster we provide at the event.

VOLLEYBALL 101

Our volleyball program has a fun couple of days planned for you. It begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. with our inaugural Volleyball 101 Clinic. On Saturday, the Alumni Game is set for 2 p.m. with an intrasquad scrimmage at 3:30.

At the Friday night clinic, you'll have a unique opportunity to talk the X and O's of the game with director of volleyball Jill Kramer. We'll also have an informational discussion on beach volleyball, our newest sport, from head coach Erik Peterson. There will be team building activities, interactive skills sessions, a mock scouting/game plan talk and drawings to win TCU volleyball apparel and tickets. Free food and refreshments will be provided!

RIFLE FACILITY UPGRADE

We're nearing completion on improvements to the home facility for our two-time NCAA champion rifle program. The range is located in the ROTC Building on campus. In case you didn't know, we're the only all-female team in the coed sport to win a national championship, and we've done it twice!

ON THE DOCKET

Our 2015-16 athletics season officially begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Columbia, Mo., when our soccer program takes the field against Missouri. We'll then continue on the road Sunday night at 6 at Arkansas. Both games can be seen on the SEC Network and the WatchESPN app. Best wishes to head coach Eric Bell and his squad!

NAME THE MOVIE QUOTE

Last Week's Answer: Randy Quaid, as Cousin Eddie in Vacation, said to Chevy Chase, "I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself."

This Week: "The football team at my high school, they were tough. After they sacked the quarterback, they went after his family."

COMPLIANCE CORNER

Jump Serve is a volleyball student-athlete at Ocean State University (OSU). Jump was injured last week during a preseason practice session. The doctor's report indicated that Jump's injury was so severe that she will not be able to compete again in the sport of volleyball. Which of the following is true?

A. OSU does not have to count Jump's athletic scholarship against team limits during the 2015-16 academic year.
B. OSU has to count Jump's athletic scholarship during the 2015-16 academic year but can exempt it in later academic years.
C. If Jump is injured, OSU is not permitted to provide her with an athletic scholarship.
D. None of the above

The answer is B. NCAA Bylaw 15.5.1.3 states that a counter who becomes injured or ill to the point that he or she apparently never again will be able to participate in intercollegiate athletics shall not be considered a counter beginning with the academic year following the incapacitating injury or illness.
