GoFrogs: Lau, Barroso Sá Qualify for NCAA Regional Championships

FORT WORTH – TCU women's golf has NCAA Tournament representation for the 20th consecutive season.

Lois Lau and Sofia Barroso Sá were selected as individual qualifiers for the NCAA Regional Championships on Wednesday. The duo will compete at the Bryan-College Station Regional, held from May 6-8 at The Traditions Club.

TCU has now received an NCAA Tournament berth or qualified individuals to the Big Dance in 28 of 30 seasons with head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin at the helm.

Lau and Barroso Sá will engage in 54 holes of stroke play against 12 teams and four other individuals at Regionals. The low five teams and highest-placing individual in the 66-player field advance to the NCAA Championship, which takes place from May 17-22 in Carlsbad, California.

Together, Lau and Barroso Sá have produced nine top-20 finishes and four top-10s across 10 tournaments in 2023-24. They each boast finishing percentages of .966 (29-30 rounds).

Lau, TCU's lone senior, leads TCU in scoring average (71.1), birdies (103), under par rounds (15) and sub-70 rounds (five). She concluded the regular season with a combined aggregate score of 12-under. She has made 43 starts in as many tournaments over her four-year run in Fort Worth.

Barroso Sá was TCU's top performer in its last three tournaments and five times overall this season. She tied for 26th at the Big 12 Championship on Saturday. She notched her best overall finish of the year at the MountainView Invitational on March 17, tying for eighth at four-under (212) in an 81-player field. Barroso Sá boasts an even-par 72 scoring average ahead of her second NCAA Tournament appearance.
