Ibiloye Receives MWC Defensive Honor
TCU graduate student forced three fumbles in Saturday's win
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- TCU safety Alex Ibiloye has been named the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday's 62-7 win over Tennessee Tech. A graduate student from Garland, Texas, Ibiloye forced three fumbles while tying for team-high honors with nine tackles, including 1 1/2 for loss.
Ibiloye's three forced fumbles were more than any Frog had for the entire 2009 season. Two-time consensus All-America defensive end Jerry Hughes led TCU with two forced fumbles last year. Ibiloye had TCU's first game with multiple forced fumbles since Hughes against BYU in 2008.
Ibiloye equaled a career-high, set on three previous occasions, with his nine tackles. He's tied with linebacker Tanner Brock for TCU's lead with 15 stops this season.
