GoFrogs: Angosta Five-Under Through Two Rounds at The Chevron Collegiate

HOUSTON – Kirstin Angosta continued her spring season ascension in Space City on Monday.

Playing just her second collegiate event, the freshman carded a five-under 139 over the first two rounds of The Chevron Collegiate at the Golf Club of Houston.

Angosta carded eight birdies and an eagle and is tied for 20th entering Tuesday's final round. The Las Vegas native is tied for fourth among all Big 12 competitors in the 89-player field. Angosta concluded the first 18 holes at five-under 67.

She has bagged a team-leading 17 birdies over TCU's first five rounds of the spring portion of its 2023-24 season.

Lois Lau gave TCU two players under-par following day one. The senior finished three strokes under par over the second round after finishing the first 18 holes at even-par. Lau is tied for 27th at three-under 141. She collected eight birdies across the daylong affair, increasing her four-year tally to 346. Lau needs 12 birdies to overtake Sabrina Iqbal as TCU's all-time leader for career birdies.

Collectively, TCU finished 14th at plus-two (578). The Horned Frogs turned in a two-under 286 scorecard in round one.

Sofia Barroso Sa tied for 69th following day one at six-over 150. She concluded the opening round minus-one.

Meagan Winans and Sophie Anand finished the opening day at 81st and 84th, respectively, on the individual leaderboard.

Tuesday's final round commences at 8 a.m. CT.
