FWST: TCU's Kenny Cain steps in for injured linebacker

Kenny Cain is more than able. He led TCU with 13 tackles against Portland State and is tied with Tank Carder for second on the team with 23 tackles. The junior also has a sack and a pass breakup, despite sitting out the Louisiana-Monroe game with a minor ankle injury.
The linebacker corps took a hit when Tanner Brock's season ended because of a foot injury. Brock, a junior, will miss the rest of the season, but he will be available the next two seasons because he never redshirted.
Cain has stepped into the role and excelled, which doesn't surprise Carder or coach Gary Patterson.
Patterson would not allow Cain to be interviewed for this story but after Saturday's win, the coach said: "He played very well today. Kenny Cain is going to have to keep doing those kinds of things, and I think there's a chance of that happening." ...
