Fanrag: Chargers rule out Jason Verrett for Week 2

Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett was added to the team’s injury report on Thursday ahead of Week 2 of the 2017-18 regular season due to a lingering knee injury. After missing practice yet again on Friday, the Chargers defensive back has since been ruled out for the team’s home opener on Sunday when they host the Miami Dolphins.
An injury-plagued Chargers squad from a season ago watched its cornerback go down with a torn ACL only a few weeks into the season. Verrett returned to practice roughly a month ago after starting training camp on the PUP list.
Through the defensive back’s first three seasons in the league, it’s been bookended by injuries.
