ESPN: Sooners survive TCU by knocking down two-point attempt

NORMAN, Okla. -- Seventh-ranked Oklahoma stuffed TCU's two-point conversion in the final minute and staved off the Horned Frogs' furious late rally to escape with a 30-29 win on Saturday night.
 
The Sooners were in control for much of the night but stagnated offensively after losing quarterback Baker Mayfield to an undisclosed injury. The Heisman Trophy hopeful took a vicious shot in the second quarter from TCU linebacker Ty Summers, who was ejected for targeting. Mayfield appeared to be woozy after the hit, yet he remained in the game for the rest of the half.
 
After halftime, Trevor Knight replaced Mayfield, and the Sooner offense gradually fell apart. That allowed the Horned Frogs to put together three straight unanswered scoring drives, capped with Bram Kohlhausen's 14-yard touchdown pass to Emanuel Porter. But instead of settling for overtime, TCU coach Gary Patterson went for two and the win, and OU safety Steven Parker batted down Kohlhausen's pass to seal the victory and keep the Sooners in the hunt for a spot in the College Football Playoff. ...
