ESPN: Houston in line for BCS berth

By Andrea Adelson

Your turn, Houston.

The Cougars are now in line for a BCS berth after Boise State lost to TCU on Saturday. Houston is No. 11 in the latest BCS standings, released Sunday night, putting it in position to earn the first BCS bid in school and Conference USA history. Though Boise State remains ahead of Houston at No. 10, the automatic berth given to a non-AQ that finishes in the top 12 only goes to a conference champion.

Should Houston win out, the Cougars would be almost certain of getting that berth. Boise State could win out, but it is no longer the favorite to win the Mountain West. That is now TCU, which jumped into the BCS standings at No. 19 off its big victory in Boise. Southern Miss, on a collision course to play Houston in the Conference USA title game, is ranked No. 20. ...

SMU is not ranked' no chance for them. 2 teams have a chance from CUSA, USM and Houston. If Tulsa wins out, TCU will go

If Houston loses, the the CUSA champ would have to be ranked higher than us. The rule states you have to be non-AQ conference champ.

what does being ranked have to do with winning a game, smu wasnt ranked when they shocked tcu

i could easily see houston winning out, but i could easily see them losing to smu, tulsa, or usm! that la tech team they barely beat ive watched play several times this year, they are salty! they go to a bcs bowl and sumlin will be gone!

The best chance we got is that SMU or tulsa knock off Houston (idk the standings of the CUSA but assume houston still goes to title game) and houston beats southern miss.

If Tulsa beats UIH, Tulsa goes to the CUSA game.

TCU's best bet is for Tulsa to beat UH and then beat USM.

Actually, the best chance we have is for Tulsa to win out. If Tulsa beats Houston and represents CUSA West vs. Southern Miss in the championship game and beats Southern Miss, then TCU goes back to the BCS.

We need Tulsa to catch fire like no other. GJ Kinne needs to play like Dalton over the next month. If he does, then we will be headed to New Orleans to punk an SEC team.
