Everyone talks about how great Herbert is but he always seems to be on losing teams.

Duggan has many wonder attributes but NFL experience is not one of them. He needs to play and not just watch. I do not see him getting much playing time in this role with the Chargers.

What is a futures contract

Essentially a contract to retain a practice squad player (or any free agent) until next year's training camp.

Practice squad contracts expire at the end of the season so Max became a free agent when the season ended.
