Cincinnati’s renovated basketball arena, and BYU’s seats 19,000

Fifth Third basketball arena was built in 1989 and in 2018 this beautiful $85 million renovation was completed. Originally seating 13,200 it now seats 12,000 with fancy seats. Basketball in the cold winter north is a big deal—viewers in the gray cold days of fall, winter and spring. It is a passionate vibe up there that we don’t have in Texas. Cincinnati, BYU, Kansas/Kansas State, Iowa State, and West Virginia bring that to the conference. Link here.

I had no idea BYU’s held 19k. Tech is right behind KU at 15k, but they only fill it when they’re good.

I've been to basketball games at all the new Big 12 arenas(even UCF)... BYU when they are good has the best atmosphere, followed by Cincinnati. Houston can have a good atmosphere when they are good, but I went there when they were not good, before Sampson. UCF's atmosphere reminded me of our Neil Dougherty days.
