Oklahoma State fine-tunes offensive fireworks ahead of meeting with TCU

PITTSBURGH -- Facing third-and-11, Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph bounced around the pocket, peeled off a Pittsburgh tackle and rolled to his left. On the run, Rudolph flipped his shoulders around, then delivered a spiral strike to Marcell Ateman downfield. Ateman easily spun off the cornerback trying to cover him and raced 69 yards for the Cowboys’ third touchdown of the first quarter.

One week after Bedlam rival Oklahoma toppled Ohio State, Oklahoma State flexed its own offensive might on the road Saturday with a 59-21 barrage of Pitt, setting up a Big 12 showdown against No. 20 TCU next weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

No. 4 USC rallies for double-overtime win over Texas, 27-24

LOS ANGELES -- Deep into the fourth quarter, Southern California and Texas played a defense-dominated, turnover-plagued game that had none of the poetry or flair of these powerhouse programs' last meeting in the 2006 Rose Bowl.

Then the offenses finally found their stride. Texas' freshman quarterback led a gutsy 91-yard touchdown march in the final minutes of regulation. USC answered with a desperate drive to force overtime.

By the time walk-on Chase McGrath hit a walk-off field goal, this famed matchup definitely had its mojo back.

Grier, Crawford lead West Virginia over Delaware State 59-16

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen wasn't left discouraged by several early glitches in a blowout win over an FCS school.

Holgorsen came away pleased overall despite several first-half turnovers on offense and his defense's inability to shut down Delaware State in the Mountaineers' 59-16 victory on Saturday.

Will Grier threw three touchdown passes, Justin Crawford ran for three scores and West Virginia (2-1) compiled 538 yards of offense against the Hornets (0-3), who lost their 14th straight game. But West Virginia had plenty of problems on both sides of the ball in its final tuneup before the start of Big 12 play.

Park scores 3 times as Iowa State beats Akron 41-14

AKRON, Ohio -- With his long hair, full beard and lanky build, Jacob Park looks more like a rock star than a quarterback. He was both on Saturday afternoon.

Park passed for 317 yards and two touchdowns, including a 43-yarder to Marchie Murdock, as Iowa State pulled away in the second half for a 41-14 victory over Akron.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound junior completed 24 of 33 throws without an interception and also scored on a 14-yard run for the Cyclones (2-1), who equaled a school record by topping 40 points for the third straight game to start the season.
