Basketball recruiting

Sir FeistyFrog
We know Amric Fields has signed.

Commits now are:

Sammy Yeager 6-4/190 SG
JR Cadot 6-5/190 SG
Reggie Murphy 6-10/210 C

Visiting:

Andre Clark 6-10 C

It will be interesting to see who actually signs from all the commits and if they all do who is out.

Have written on all but Yeager, so here is what little I can find on him:

Originally a San Diego commit out of Modesta HS but grades forced him to take the JUCO route. He originally went to Modesta CC but left the team because of a disagreement with the coaches. He apparently enrolled at several other schools before ending up at Weatherford CC where he had a team-leading 19.5 points per game on 53% shooting and tops on the squad in rebounding at 6.7 a contest. Offers included Idaho but was also recruited by Nebraska.

Two 6-10 players would be nice.

Pending their shooting abilities, this is shaping up to be a decent class.

The 2 JUCO players, Cadot & Yeager, are above avg shooting guards. Cadot named 3rd team all-american and avg over 20 pts a contest, Yeager right at that also.

If this is the class CJC addressed the two most glaring needs with a physical presence in the middle and shooters. Thorns will take over at PG which should help Tuffy become more of a scoring threat also.

TCU has been undersized for about 8 years. It looks like we are finally addressing that problem.

Yes indeed. From the paper side of things, it looks like TCU will be a little bit better.

If we got all of the above that would give us 3 guys in the 6'10 or so, height area... That would be immensley better, size wise. Cerina might be 6'9 but he is plenty stout inside.

If you add the two shooting guards and Roberson, Tuffy, Green, Thorns at point, well now, that is sounding pretty good. Just hope Clark comes thru...... One of the JC's is a point and can score. That gives us depth at point, instead of being totally without a point, like last season...

Tuffy will be free to dance at the two... The shooter from Midland JC last year, can really help coming off the bench. Fields should be an immediate help...

Christian is doing exactly what I thought he would. He is building a base and making some serious add ons...

Now we just need these kids coached up. The talent is there to win plenty of games next year but will we, that is the question.

Feisty, are any of the online sources showing Reggie as committed to the Frogs or is this coming from the office? A couple of places are reporting offers from Marquette, Oklahoma with Minnesota also being interested. From the writeups I have seen on him this year his offensive game is starting to come together. He is a very young senior and if we land Clark I wouldn't be surprised if Murphy redshirted.

I think Coach Christian should communicate with us some. They need support at the games, and one way to do that is to let fans know what they are doing in recruiting.

Signing day luncheon, Thursday, April 29, noon, Dee J. Kelly Alumni Center.

Be There. Aloha. Communication scheduled.

RSVP to Joan Owens in the Basketball office.

Wow, from that little blurp, sounds like Yeager is going to be more of a cancer to the program than anything. Hopefully the reason for so many exits from schools were for decent reasons.
