In the "30 for 30" film about SMU, I believe he said something like, "The reason I went to SMU is because my girlfriend went there," which, of course, IS NOT a denial that he took illegitimate payments to come to SMU.
If someone is asking for my vote to represent me in the U.S. Senate, I'd really like to hear a definitive statement from him that he isn't a cheater, or if he was a cheater, how much he cheated, and what changes have taken place in his character since then.
I'd like to think that his "body of work" doesn't include lying by omission for the last thirty years.
