247 Sports: Patterson says TCU got a leader in Rogers
Jeremy Clark
TCU head coach Gary Patterson landed the highest rated recruit he’s ever landed on Friday as four-star quarterback Justin Rogers announced his signing with TCU.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder is rated as the No. 34 overall prospect in the nation and No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the nation. Rogers chose TCU over LSU, North Carolina and most recently Texas A&M among many others. LSU and Texas A&M were heavily recruiting the gunslinger.
Patterson is excited to land a player of Rogers’ caliber to the fold. Rogers’ signing now gives the Frogs 18 signees out of their 19 commits.
“A leader always comes down to a quarterback and (it’s good) to have a guy like Justin for our future along with the other quarterbacks,” Patterson said.
