247 Sports: Herman declares Texas DB Locke 'very doubtful' for TCU game

AUSTIN – The Texas secondary is likely going to be missing a key piece when the Longhorns hit the road to face 10th-ranked TCU on Saturday.
Tom Herman said during his Monday press conference that the Longhorns are entering the week with nickelback P.J. Locke III being “very doubtful” for duty in Fort Worth due to an ankle injury. The junior had 1.5 tackles for loss and five total tackles before leaving the team’s 38-7 win over Baylor in the first half.
Herman said the injury to Locke, who has yet to miss a game in his Texas career (32 appearances, 17 starts) and has 32 total tackles along with 2.5 tackles for loss and a pass breakup in 2017, isn’t expected to keep him out for an extended period of time.
