Don't be fooled: Gary Patterson's TCU is a tough out for OU

By RJ Young

Texas Christian is a lot like Sherman Klump’s granny Ida Mae, ain’t no easy win. You’ll limp back. You’ll walk over. But you limping back.

Gary Patterson’s boys are tough, and that should be enough to frighten OU ahead of its Saturday tilt at 7 p.m. in Norman. The Horned Frogs are the best 5-5 team in football, which you might feel like being the universe’s best blacksmith elf. You might not have your hands, but you can still make an axe that can only be wielded by god to strike Thanos dead.

TCU has been blown out just once all year—a 49-24 loss to Iowa State last month. They’ve lost every other game by an average of just 4.6 points. And every loss has come against a team who is or has been ranked in 2019.

I understand why an OU perspective might think this about our team. But us frog fans, knowing our team, offense and track record against Lincoln riley, do not share the same sentiment. I'll still be cheering like crazy for a win but don't see how we could pull it off

Max is a whole lot better the the guy that started the season. Also last week we got Anderson back in the ball carrying business and he had a good day and so did the Frogs. Duggan and Anderson can make the difference along with an offensive line and a good defense. . Just win by one....... Go Frogs

i agree max and the offense are better than at the start of the year though injuries in the offensive line had hurt the run game

ou is not the invincible team we saw at the start of the year

concerned about how strengths and weaknesses match up

RJ is the OU Insider guy... He’s one of the few reasonable press members in regard to OU...Sure seems to be a lot of “TCU covers” guys out there.

And OU ain't quite the team they were last year and the year before. . . .
True in that they are more sloppy offensively than in years past. However they are every bit as effective in the stat columns. Take away the turnovers and they would be killing everyone the same as last year.
